About MR Homecare, Incorporated - Elk Grove, CA
MR Homecare, Inc. (where care in a homey atmosphere is a fashion) owns and operates a 3,000 sq. ft. Residential Care Facility for the Elderly in Elk Grove, California on 10,500 sq. ft. lot. It is nestled in a quiet, decent and safe 10-year old neighborhood in Elk Grove, California.
All good sized and fully equipped 4 bedrooms and an office are separated from the common area by a fire door rated at 90 minutes for added fire safety precautions. There are 5 fire exits leading to the side yard and backyard. There are two exit gates, which lead to the streets. The facility is protected by an alarm system. Additionally, there are 11 fire and 2 carbon monoxide alarm system.
There is a 420 sq. ft. sunroom and 284 sq. ft.covered patio designated as exercise room and for other activities that the residents may wish to use for.
We aim to make the facility with a homey atmosphere to counter the feeling of homesickness among the ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents. Our Mission Statement states that we provide care without reservation, treat residents as we would like to be treated, and be proactive in safeguarding the residents well-being, safety and security in accordance with the law.
Our planned recreational and physical activities include, but are not limited to: daily light exercise; cognitive and mental stimulation such as card games reading, and music (singing group/karaoke); cultural and religious activities (e.g. bible study and observance of ethnic festivities); supervised visits to parks, library, malls, and community agencies serving senior citizens; observance of residents' important dates like birthdays and anniversaries; celebration of Thanksgiving and Christmas with their respective family's participation, and other activities geared towards maintaining/improving residents social skills.
We encourage the residents to form a Residential Council that will give them voice on how to improve the services to them. To stay in touch with their respective family, the facility is always open for them to receive visitors at designated hours, and to provide space for privacy. Visitation could be made beyond visiting hours. The idea is to allow the residents independent movement and decision in line with a fashion to give the facility a homey environment.
Finally, we subscribe to the idea that the residents are the lifeblood of the facility`s long-term existence. Thus, we shall aim for their comfort, safety and healthy existence as a policy.
