About Laurelmead Cooperative - Providence, RI
Laurelmead on Blackstone Boulevard has combined luxurious living accommodations, through individual home ownership, with quality services and amenities since 1994. Designed in the traditional New England style, Laurelmead is situated on 23 acres of wooded, rolling hills overlooking the Seekonk River. The site’s natural beauty and park-like environment was designed in the 1800’s by the famous landscape architect firm of Frederick Law Olmstead. Preserving its grandeur was the primary objective in the community’s design.
While the setting and buildings are lovely, the true importance of Laurelmead lies in the lifestyle and security it offers you. You can remain here within the sanctuary that is Laurelmead or travel as you wish without worry because you know your apartment home is secure.
Entertainment and recreational areas include a swimming pool in the Fitness Center, a formal dining room, a casual café, a beauty/barber salon, a convenience store, a woodworking shop, and a library. We also provide a wide-array of music programs, classes, lectures and trips. Transportation is also available.
The above information may be helpful to acquaint you with Laurelmead; however, we encourage you to visit. Most of all, we hope you will seriously consider all the many benefits you will derive from electing to live in this exceptional community.
Resident Testimonial: “When I was living by myself, I felt bored and tired most of the time. At Laurelmead, there are so many stimulating programs to participate in, I’m engaged and interested in life again. My doctor says being socially active is one of the best things I can do to stay sharp, which is easy at Laurelmead. And you know, he’s right, I feel ten years younger!”
Family Member Testimonial: “We looked at a lot of places when it was time for my parents to move from their home of 55 years. Laurelmead stood out in many ways, but mostly it was the people. Everyone went out of their way to be very welcoming. Laurelmead has a very smart, interesting population and an engaging atmosphere. My parents are intellectually stimulated by the environment. Every week there are lectures covering topics such as genetics or history, and musical performances from classical to jazz."
