Sister’s Day Gifts
Got a sister who could use a lift during the dog days of summer? Sister’s Day is Sunday, August 7, and it’s the perfect time to remind your sis how much you love and appreciate her. We’ve rounded up some special ideas for Sister’s Day gifts – some store bought, some homemade – to help you show your sister what she means to you.
Beautiful bath gifts for Sister’s Day
Fragrant scrubs are a simple indulgence that most people enjoy. Pick a scent your sister likes and look for other ingredients that mesh with her skincare routine – almond, coconut or jojoba oil for softening, sugar or salt for polishing.
Make it yourself
Treehugger is a great resource for DIY beauty products that make good gifts. We like their recipe for Vanilla Coconut Brown Sugar Scrub: ½ cup each of brown sugar and coconut oil plus ½ teaspoon of vanilla. It’s perfect for moisturizing in the shower. Sis not a fan of coconut? Treehugger has recipes for citrus and mint scrubs, too.
Ready to buy
You can buy handcrafted bath scrubs that ship worldwide to treat your sister wherever she may be. Etsy offers more than 12,000 bath scrub products made by independent sellers, all packaged and ready to go. This organic vanilla sugar scrub comes in a cute container with a handy scoop, and if you really want to treat your sis, there’s coordinating body butter, too.
Sweet ideas for Sister’s Day gifts
Bouquets are nice, but they’re even sweeter when they’re made of candy. Order a candy bouquet for delivery to your sister or surprise her in person with one you’ve designed just for her.
Make it yourself
If you’re lucky enough to live close to your sister, deliver her a candy bouquet you’ve made by hand. Not sure how to do that? YouTube has you covered. Randa Derkson of The Bewitchin’ Kitchen has a short 2-part video series that walks you through wrapping wooden kabob sticks with inexpensive floral tape to form the “stems” of your bouquet, then making the “flowers” with your sister’s favorite treats.

From You Flowers ships candy bouquets to all 50 states and Washington DC. Their Ultimate Candy Bouquet serves up classic candy bars in a mug festooned with ribbons. You can also choose Snickers, Reese’s, and Skittles bouquets and huge assorted candy baskets.

Got a lot of stories to reminisce about with your sister? Share them all in one place with this clever Books Within a Scrapbook idea from Martha Stewart. This is an especially fun gift idea if you have lots of siblings – everyone can contribute a tiny book to tuck into the main scrapbook.
Ready to buy
Give your shared memories a lavish setting in a handmade album from AnnaSigga of Iceland. This Etsy artisan’s romantic, vintage-inspired scrapbooks are ornately decorated in a romantic style. All you need to do is add photos and other mementos. Her greeting cards are a nice finishing touch or a beautiful gift on their own.

One thing that really blew my my sister away was an authentic hand made candy gift basket! Mind you I am not the best at designing or making things look pretty, so I ordered one online! But if you are looking for that hand-made touch check out The Candy Gift basket. (Not a promotion for them, I just really liked their services you can add a custom message to your candy basket that has a really elegant look, they have an out of date website, and it’s ran by a mom and pop style of people, when they called to confirm my order, they seemed like real genuine people.)
